Steve is a Certified Educational Planner, endorsed by the American Institute of Certified Educational Planners (AICEP). He is Founder and Chief Exeutive Officer of Sterling College Consultants. Since 1999, he has researched and developed his innovative approach to advising and directing students and parents through the college admission and financial aid processes. He works directly with multitudes of college-bound high school students and their parents every year; additionally, for 34 years he instructed and mentored college students at the university and community college levels. He is the author of two guides on college admissions, Sterling's College Admission Survival Guide for Juniors and Sterling's College Admission Survival Guide for Seniors.

Dottie is Co-founder and Director of Research for College Social and Cultural Awareness for Sterling College Consultants. She is familiar with the culture, academic emphasis, and reputation of hundreds of the most popular and prestigious colleges and universities across the United States. Her knowledge and continuous research ensures college-bound students attend the four-year school that best suits their needs.
For the past 23 years she has assisted with mentoring, guiding, and personally directing hundreds of high school students and their parents through the college admission process. For 22 years, she has been a student mentor, counselor and instructional aid; she has created more than 350 mentoring relationships between volunteer adults and at-risk students. Steve is a frequent keynote speaker at college admission-related events on the West Coast and has been profiled by numerous publications, as well as appeared on a variety of media organizations. Steve is an active member of the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) and Western Association for College Admission Counseling (WACAC). Steve earned his Bachelor's degree from California Lutheran University, Master's Degree in Science from California State University, Northridge, and his Master's Degree in Business from California Lutheran University.
